The liner Kiviuq I to Akureyri for winter storage

The longliner Kiviuq I arrived in Akureyri for winter storage after the first fishing trip in the Arctic. Anticipating losing their fishing grounds to ice in December, they looked to Akureyri for winter storage.

The chief engineer, Jens Andru said the factory deck met all expectations. He said it was amazing that almost nothing needed refinement in the vessel after extensive maintenance and modifications. "Now we just have to wait for the ice to melt."

Jens said it was good to be in Akureyri, and having the vessel in winter storage at Slippurinn in Akureyri was a good feeling.
